06/25/02 - DocJet version 4.3 build 1 released

Before you install this release...

This release is the first to require a maintenance subscription in order to run it.

New Features

  • Many people write comments where the name of the function or method appears at the head of the method. The "Function Name Remover Hook" can delete such things from the comments.
  • There are some OLE/MFC macros that hide the definition of a class (DECLARE_OLE_CREATE and BEGIN_INTERFACE_PART). Left to their own, these guys cause "Class definition not found" errors. A new hook has been created to intercept these macros.

Defects Corrected

  • The project name step had two problems: one, in the DevStudio 6 AppWizard, the window style wasn't right and secondly, the field was initially blank, in spite of the fact that the wizard was in possession of some reasonable clues as to what the user might like.
  • The new grouped class members list includes some stuff that isn't really inherited, such as constructors.
  • Some commenting conventions (notably ones associated with Rational Rose) end up with "//##" as the start of the comment. It turned out that the "//" unboxing rules would not clean up anything other than boxes composed of slashes or stars.
  • DocJetDefault.CSS needed to be listed in the HTMLHelp project file, otherwise the HTMLHelp didn't look right.
  • It was possible to open up the same .DJX file in two different instances of the External Sources Editor, causing confusion.
  • The setup script needed to include MSVCP60.DLL. If you installed DocJet on an XP machine with just .Net, this file is missing.
  • If you go to the "Sources" page of a project configuration and "Exclude" a large number of files you can get a buffer overrun.
  • If you had several interlinked HTML files in your DJX file, and they were in different directories, the hyperlinks between the pages were not always properly translated.
